If a potential new investor walked into your organisation today would they want to invest? Would they find a cohesive team with everyone working together towards clear goals? Is there an obvious, clear route to profit?

New or evolving organisations often attract outside investors to grow and develop. Mature companies typically focus on management buyouts or buy-ins through Private Equity investors. Younger or early-stage funding may be gained from Venture Capital providers. With both of these methods, investors may also bring operational expertise, management skills and will often take a seat on the Board. This ‘active ownership’ approach usually involves a close working relationship between investor and management team in order to enhance the value in the business. This more intimate form of investment requires an in-depth analysis of the organisation prior to investment.

Evolve12-18 has been designed by members of our team with a Private Equity background to prepare management teams to attract outside investors at the highest organisational valuation. Most organisations think current financials are the key to attracting an investor. And, of course, this is indeed critical. However, the path to future profit will also be critical. And, as part of this, in-depth due diligence will highlight management and organisational complexities too. To ensure you maximize the value of your existing efforts, your teams will need to be high performing and aligned and your strategy will need to be clear and achievable.

This is our most in-depth, longest-term program. We work with each organisation for 12 to 18 months prior to their search for new investors. This is a totally bespoke service whose elements depend completely on the exact situation of the organisation looking to attract investment. It is likely to involve Board, team and 1-1 coaching. It may also involve an element of external PR to build the profile of the organisation prior to attracting an investor. To this end, and as part of Evolve12-18 we work with London’s top financial PR firm in the PE and VC space.
